Asian Satinwood Burl or AKA Pyinma Burl is native to South East Asia. It is one of the most highly figurative burls on the market and is rare and difficult to obtain. It has one of the most dimensional curls of all exotic burls and can often have over 100 eyes in a square inch. It can vary from having a distinct vein-like appearance like branches in a tree, to an extreme density seen in “museum-grade” specimens, displaying hundreds of gold satin threads and eyes. It’s tones range from an almost straw and amber gold to a milk chocolate in certain specimens, with a beautiful (as the name suggests) satin sheen shimmering throughout all its veins.
